Travel and Tourism have taken a huge hit this past year, but as is always the case, with great challenge comes unexpected innovation. Travel lovers worldwide are finding ways to enjoy the things they love most about being on the move, despite the vast array of restrictions they face due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We’ve selected some of our favorite travel tendencies to highlight – ones that we believe will most likely take the stage in 2021 – and we’re taking this opportunity to remind you all that the team at Omnifique can make these travel experiences, and more, happen. The new, underexplored, and the seemingly impossible, is what we do best. So, check out these cool ideas for 2021 Travel…
Pleasure Flights
Anyone who loves to travel usually loves the whole experience of getting on a plane and delving into a little preflight airport shopping too. So, many seasoned travelers are turning toward the idea of a pleasure flight.
Imagine the setting… relaxing on a plane with a tasty G&T, contemplating the clouds, and filled with the sensation of being on the move. Pleasure flights are all about airline 5-star experience, and you can hop on, go for a spin through the clouds, and then hop back off again in the place where it all began. Super cool and damn right decadent.
How has this growing trend come about? It’s quite simple, actually. Several airlines, particularly those that operate in the Asia-Pacific region at present, have realized that instead of leaving the aircraft on the ground, they have the chance to offer “flights to nowhere.” ANA, EVA Air, and Qantas have all been on board with the idea at some point.
In fact, EVA Air made the press for offering a Hello Kitty-inspired flight from Taipei. The food served on the flight was elaborated by Motokazu Nakamura, a three-Michelin-star chef. The seven-hour flight took passengers from Sydney and on low-level flyovers across the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and Byron Bay.
Speedy Travel Testing
Another travel trend that seems to be breaking ground is the pre-departure PCR COVID-19 tests for all passengers. The idea is to test before passengers board flights and to test upon arrival as well, just to make sure that nothing has changed during the flight. The move here is to avoid the chaos related to getting these tests done in a clinic before travel.
What’s really impressive is that some airlines and airports have already begun embracing even quicker testing solutions. For example, United seems to be leading all developments with the creation of a 15-minute test for passengers flying from San Francisco to Hawaii. There’s now a test in place at London Heathrow airport for some flights that offer results within the hour. Naturally, the team at Omnifique is here and on hand to begin investigating on your behalf to find the testing travel solution you need in the fastest time frame possible.
A Positive Pandemic: Let’s #GiveBack
We all know that wildlife conservation is a global issue. Still, perhaps we don’t always do what we could do to help manage the situation and take better care of our planet’s rich and diverse fauna. The crisis generated by COVID-19 has worsened wildlife conservation in many ways globally, but particularly in Africa.
A lack of visitors to the safari reserves on the African continent has resulted in a lack of funding to pay park rangers, which has translated into an increase in poaching. On a positive note, some travel organizations are trying to do what they can to rectify the problem.
Pelorus, for example, is a high-end adventure travel company that recently launched the Pelorus Foundation. The objective is to protect the wildlife that’s at greater risk due to the current world context. Yonder is a luxury tour operator now offering tours that are specifically designed to support animals in need.
If there’s a way in which you think your travel plans could start to give back in 2021, let us know, and we’ll do everything we can to make those ideas happen.
Expert Tuition for Children
On a final note, we’d like to highlight a growing trend that aims to pay attention to our youngest generations’ academic needs. The world pandemic has made it impossible for children to go to school. As we slowly realize that 2021 might not see us entirely back to normal, with children in full-time education, Monday to Friday, parents are looking for innovative and effective solutions.
In response to this need, several resorts worldwide have actually begun to employ fully trained teaching staff available to offer on-site tutoring during the day. So, while mom and dad take a working holiday to a sunny beach location, the children get the opportunity to get back on track with their studies while soaking up the rays and playing in the sand.
If you’d love to stay in one of our high-end homes, take advantage of a change of scenery, and have expert tuition for your children during the day, then just reach out because, at Omnifique, we can make it happen.
