“Everywhere you look should help your brow unfurrow,” says homeowner William Raup about Basalt, the latest addition to our Boulder portfolio. And he’s right: the home is truly a balm for the soul. We fell in love with its chic, minimalistic decor, charming patio, and convenient open-floor concept. Read on to learn more about the property from the owner himself.
Basalt was recently remodeled, resulting in a monochromatic, very relaxing, uncluttered and spacious interior environment. “It’s an artist’s home; the kids also grew up here,” explains Raup. The tall ceilings and archways are some architectural accents and decorative features that make this property so appealing. Plus, the music room is the perfect place to create some inspired magic.
“My absolute favorite room in the house is the outdoor sleeping porch,” says Raup. And it’s genuinely a stunner: it’s screened top-to-bottom on three sides, which provides fantastic views of the surrounding garden.
Raup was first drawn to this property because of its quiet and private location. This allowed him to integrate nature into the home: “the main level of the house is mostly glass and doors, bringing the outside in and the inside out.” According to Raup, being outdoors is the best thing our guests can do while staying at his property: “there are beautiful walks – and fantastic “architectural tours” – on the quiet streets surrounding the property. Or just relax in the gardens, cook on the grill. Enjoy the beauty.”
