Guests don’t want to worry about temperature. Heating and cooling are crucial when on vacation: travelers want to relax and feel comfortable, no matter the weather outside. This is especially true when visiting a climate they’re not used to. For example, there’s nothing worse than waking up freezing in the middle of the night and having to call for help because the heat went out. So, read on to discover some of our tips for heating and cooling done right – straight from our experienced Operations team.
Jen Williams is our Operations Executive, an expert in making the impossible happen. She shared with us some useful insights that can have a direct impact on a guest’s experience at your home:
Homeowners should have their HVAC systems regularly serviced by a professional to ensure everything is in tip-top shape. Before every reservation, you should turn on both (if you have them) to double-check all is still in working order. Everyone has a different temperature preference, so it’s essential to make sure both work year-round.
Filters should also be switched out regularly according to the manufacturer and checked before the guests arrive.
Improperly maintained HVAC systems could lead to a terrible guest experience, resulting in a loss of income due to refunds. In extreme cases, you could run into major issues at your home. This could mean everything from pipes bursting or having to replace expensive parts last minute because they were not inspected annually by a professional.
Checking the batteries in your thermostat is essential too! Don’t forget to do a quick check-up before you leave and after you arrive. Guests aside, you don’t want the battery running out when you’re home either!
Although it’s uncommon in some states, certain guests are used to having air conditioning at home and require it when traveling. Installing one in your property can be a plus point for your home!
So, you have to make sure everything is working correctly. This will benefit both our guests and you! Contact us if there’s anything we can do to help.
