New Year, New Ideas, A New Approach to Travel

Sometimes the start of a New Year can be daunting. At the same time, the beginning of a new 12-month cycle is often just what we need to make adjustments, expand our horizons, and launch ourselves into new experiences.

With that in mind, if you’ve always approached travel in more or less the same way, maybe 2021 is the perfect year to view and experience travel in a different light. Interested in the idea? We hope so because we’ve got a few ideas to help inspire you…

Go Travel Random

For most of us, a well-earned break is so important that we don’t want to take any risks. We love to plan, we enjoy selecting where to go, where to stay, for how long, and who we travel with. We get a little bit caught up in the details, trying to make sure that we’ll have the same experience we’re dreaming of, that it’s probably fair to say that we just don’t leave ourselves open to the element of surprise and the fun that can be had when we just go with the flow.

So, why not Go Travel Random in 2021, plan less, think even less than you plan, and just see where the wind takes you. We believe this could be a really liberating approach to 2021 travel, particularly as we continue to weave our way through the dynamics of the current world crisis. If we plan less and just take up opportunities as they arise, and where travel restrictions allow, we’re likely to have a lot of fun on the road this year.

So, flick through our destinations and let the mouse drop at random. Or scroll through our 5-star homes and wait for your cellphone to slowly come to a random stop.

Hand Over the Travel Baton

On a similar note, why not let someone else make all your travel plans for you this year. Take the “me” out of travel and give way to the suggestions of an expert team, full of creative travel ideas that might introduce you to new locations and new experiences away from home. Sound interesting?

We’re here to choose your destination, home, activities, chef, and even your wine list for you. We know what’s good, what’s hot, and what’s not, and we’re aces at making the seemingly impossible happen. Give us the travel baton, and let us do what we do best for you.

Mix It Up

We think that 2021 is an excellent year for mixing things up and going against the grain. 2020 kept everyone on their toes, and we all had to learn how to do things differently and adapt fast. So, we’ve proven that we’ve got what it takes to change how we do things and pull ourselves out of our comfort zones. Let’s take that learning and apply it to a fresh approach to travel plans this year.

If you usually plan short getaways for one or two nights in a row, then try your hand at a more extended trip this year. If you tend to disappear for months on end, give then the every-other-weekend-break style of travel a try. If you usually head to the beach, divert your route to the mountains. If you typically travel in March, shift your plans to May. If you’ve always reserved in a 5-star hotel, allow a 5-star home rental to shine.

When those natural instincts start to set in, make that extra effort to shift and spin and go for something you just don’t do. You might find that this alternative way of traveling is actually more enjoyable than the way you used to do it.

Gifted Travel Experiences

And on a final note, why not take a massive leap forward on the kindness map this year and treat someone else to the experience? Send your friend to Colorado for a weekend, make a Miami booking for your parents in March. Give your awesome business team the experience of a lifetime in fresh-faced, full-of-life California.

Gifted Travel is bound to make you feel good, and you can hear all about their incredible journey upon their return. Is it a far-out-there approach to travel that we’re suggesting? It certainly is. But then, we’re always at the cutting edge of new ideas and new ways of thinking. It’s who we are.

Enjoy! And get in touch if you need our help with any of your alternative travel plans this year.
